Two major insurance groups have been recognised for their actions and progress towards achieving workplace gender equality by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency.
Both TAL and Zurich Financial Services Australia have been awarded the ‘Employer of Choice’ citation for Gender Equality by the Government agency, alongside 113 other Australian employers.
A statement from TAL says it’s the 10th consecutive year it has received a WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation “…awarded to Australian organisations that meet rigorous voluntary standards and demonstrate an active commitment to achieving workplace gender equality.”
Justin Delaney, Chief Executive Officer, Zurich says his company “…has a long-standing and deep commitment to gender equality and we are honoured to join the select group of organisations recognised through this important citation.”
In recent years, Zurich has introduced several initiatives to support and promote gender equality including talent and succession programs, flexible working policies, remuneration targets and employee training. Zurich regularly tracks and reports on relevant metrics to support and inform progress in this space, Delaney says.
TAL Group CEO and Managing Director Brett Clark notes his company has a deep commitment to ensuring that all TAL employees are treated equally and have the same access to opportunities for personal growth and career advancement.
“Gender equality, and equality overall, is central to what it means to work at TAL and the WGEA citation is a reflection of our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive culture,” he says.
