The search has started for the next Chair of ASIC and Deputy Chair of APRA.
ASIC Chair Joseph Longo is not seeking reappointment when his term finishes at the end of May 2026 – he joined the organisation in 2021.
A recruitment processes to appoint a new Deputy Chair for APRA is also underway after Margaret Cole said she would not seek an extension beyond her current term that ends in June 2026.
Key appointments like these are another important way to refresh and renew our economic institutions, said Treasuer Dr Jim Chalmers.
“Regulators play a really important role in our economy, and that’s why we will continue to appoint the best people we can to lead them,” he said.
