Feedback Wanted on Life Insurance Code

0

An independent review of the Life Insurance Code of Practice has opened to give the public and industry players an opportunity to provide feedback on how it’s performing and where  improvements could be made.

The review, led by former ASIC Deputy Chair Peter Kell, is seeking submissions from consumers, advocacy groups, life insurers and other stakeholders by 15 December 2025.

The review will assess whether the code continues to meet expectations, reflects current regulation, is practical and easy to understand.

Kell said the consultation is a key step in developing recommendations to strengthen consumer protections.

“The code plays a vital role in setting clear expectations for how life insurers interact with their customers,” he said.

“This review is an opportunity to hear directly from customers and organisations who use, rely on, and are affected by the Life Code.”
