MetLife Australia has marked 20 years in the local market, with its CEO Richard Nunn saying he is proud of the trust placed in the insurer by its partners and customers. Since entering Australia in 2005, the firm has supported more than 2.5m people and paid $6.8bn in claims.
“We’ve dedicated our efforts to deliver a digital future, where customers can interact quickly and easily, when and how they choose,” said Nunn.
He said MetLife’s single digital-platform approach is building capacity, simplifying operations, and allowing staff to focus more on customer care.

Looking to the future, he said the insurer is conscious of the challenges many Australians face as economic and social conditions evolve.
“Our capital strength, global connectivity, technical agility and high professionalism mean we are well placed to evolve with our customers and secure their futures,” he said.
Nunn said the firm continues to invest in optimising claims and underwriting, as well as its 360Health and retirement offerings.
The global MetLife Foundation has donated $2.5m to support community organisations in Australia.
