AMP has appointed Blair Vernon as its next Group CEO, succeeding Alexis George, who will retire from executive roles on 30 March 2026 after nearly five years’ leading the group.

Currently the firm’s Group Chief Financial Officer, Vernon has more than 30 years’ experience across the Australian and New Zealand financial services sectors.
Since joining AMP as Group Executive Transformation and New Zealand head in 2022, he has played a key role in simplifying the business, including the divestment of AMP Capital assets.
As CFO since July 2023, he helped execute the sale of the advice business.
Vernon said it was a privilege to lead AMP and committed to continuing the execution of its strategy, while paying tribute to George’s contribution.
A search process will begin to appoint a new CFO.
