Advisers are generally optimistic about the growth of their practice this year with 55% indicating they expect their advice business to be in a better commercial position by December.
Our poll follows the release of IMF data that seems to show the country is facing higher inflation and lower than hoped-for economic growth – placing continued pressure on consumer finances.
Apart from the 55% who have a positive view of their business this year, 27% aren’t sure if their business will be in a better position by the year-end, and 18% are not optimistic of seeing an improvement.
While those in the know appear to be divided about the economy over the coming months, some of our major banks are predicting a rise in the official cash rate on February 3.
