The two Australian recipients of MetLife Foundation’s Community Impact Grant Program (CIGP) have been named.
The foundation is providing more than $9m (US$6.5m) to nonprofits worldwide that “…deliver the services and resources people rely on to build financial health and resilience”.
Launched in 2023, the CIGP expanded globally last year to support organisations delivering solutions focused on food security, mental health and wellbeing, environmental sustainability, and vibrant communities.
This year’s grants will support more than 100 nonprofits, including two in Australia:
- DV Safe Phone which repurposes phones to help victims of domestic violence
- Habitat for Humanity’s healthy homes initiative that improves housing quality for low-income families across the country
