A new award recognising excellence in risk advice has been introduced as part of the 2026 FAAA Awards, with applications now open.
The FAAA Adviser of the Year – Risk award is sponsored by Zurich Australia, and has been created to reflect the evolving landscape of financial advice and the critical role risk advisers play in protecting Australian clients, states the organisation.
FAAA General Manager of Membership and Strategic Initiatives Tania Milnes said: “Risk advice is often the foundation of a comprehensive financial strategy, and this new award shines a well-deserved spotlight on their work.
“Alongside our existing categories, the 2026 FAAA Awards now celebrate the full breadth of excellence across our profession.”

The 2026 awards include seven categories:

- Adviser of the Year – Risk (new for 2026)
- Adviser of the Year – Holistic
- Certified Financial Planner Professional of the Year
- Inspire Women – Excellence in Advice
- FAAA Professional Practice of the Year
- Gen Next Rising Star of the Year
- University Student of the Year
The FAAA has invited members to nominate themselves or encourage a colleague to apply. Applicants are asked to provide examples demonstrating their professional achievements, leadership, contribution to clients and the profession, and community involvement.
Nominations close on 30 July, with winners to be announced at the FAAA Congress Gala Dinner in Melbourne on 26 November. Click here for more information.
