The Future2 Foundation has opened nominations for its 2025 Make the Difference grants, offering financial services professionals the chance to improve the financial wellbeing for vulnerable Australians.
Now in its 18th year, the program funds community-led projects that promote financial literacy and resilience, particularly among young people, women, and disadvantaged communities including migrants, First Nations peoples, and those in rural and remote areas.
Foundation chair Julie Berry said the program is designed to empower financial services professionals to support causes they are passionate about.
“We’re calling on industry professionals to nominate local organisations doing important work in financial education and support. These grants rely on nominations – organisations can’t apply independently,” she said.
Since its launch in 2007, Future2 has distributed $1.8m in to more than 180 community programs nationwide.
Last year, 12 initiatives received funding, including financial literacy training for First Nations communities, workshops for female survivors of domestic violence, and programs helping disadvantaged youth transition into employment.
The 2025 grant program focuses on four areas:
- Financial literacy for Australians under 25 experiencing disadvantage
- Support for people facing poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, and mental health challenges
- Programs empowering women to achieve financial independence
- Financial education in regional and remote communities
Nominations are open until 21 August 2025, with individual grants of up to $15,000 available. The program is supported by AIA Australia. Click here for more information.
