ANZ Wealth has released a series of educational videos for use by customers of advisers that are designed to help them better understand their insurance cover.

Six videos have been produced for clients of advisers, with a further six produced for people who have insurance through a superannuation fund, with the latter videos covering topics such as the necessity of life insurance, how income protection works and how to make a claim.

The videos are hosted by Australian media identity and TV presenter, James Mathison and are a response to consumer feedback that life insurance is a confusing topic.

ANZ Wealth Group Executive, Alexis George said the complexity around insurance stems from having to consider worst case scenarios and the many levels and types of cover available to deal with those situations.

“We have a responsibility to help our customers navigate this complexity by offering products, services and information that are easy to access and understand,” George said.

“By providing simple and engaging videos…we hope to make insurance more accessible for people who might be overlooking the importance of protecting themselves and the things that matter to them,” she added.

The videos for advisers are available via the OnePath Adviser Advantage portal and the superannuation fund videos are available at the OnePath website.

  1. Firstly a disclaimer-I cannot access the video-hidden behind passwords in ANZ
Why hidden, why not on you tube-its a public file, isn’t it
However, if the video fails to explain the difference between retail, group and direct policies IN TERMS OF CUSTOMER BENEFITS, then its a waste of time and just another warm fuzzy from a bank

    • You do know that you, as an adviser, can register for the adviser only website don’t you? The videos are hosted on Youtube which are publicly available.

      • Thanks for the tip, but that’s only for advisers who choose to write business for ANZ. . So why wasn’t that info of direct you tube access in the Press Release from ANZ, which Risk Info adopted. Having looked at the videos, I guess they are OK as far as it goes, and are probably the best I have seen, with no obvious corporate logos, which always annoys me, and reduces the effectiveness. But the Disclosure video confuses Privacy And Disclosure and in my view needs work

        • Old Risky, the links provided in the story were those provided by ANZ in the press release. The videos available on YouTube (and ANZ’s website) are those designed for Group Life clients of OnePath while the videos for advised clients are behind the OnePath Adviser Advantage portal log in.
