AMP has announced it will be introducing a Diploma of Financial Services qualification through its AMP Horizons training academy.

The diploma course has been designed to take six months to complete and is to be run by AMP in conjunction with training group, Pinnacle Financial Services Academy.

Weekly face to face elective tutorials are to be held at AMP Horizon’s Academy in St Leonards in Sydney, with the course designed for those who want to start a career in the financial services industry, or expand on an existing one.

The course develops the generic and specialist knowledge required to provide advice to clients, and offers modules focusing on the development of advisory skills and construction of advice recommendations.

AMP Horizons Director, Tim Steele, said the course “… offers considerably more face to face time than other programs in the market, providing students with an opportunity to receive direct mentoring and resolve difficulties progressively throughout the training.”

AMP advises that the first intake for its Diploma of Financial Services is scheduled to commence on 13 January 2011.
