Katherine Hunt Wins 2010 AFA Student of the Year

Katherine Hunt of Aspire Financial Planning has won this year’s Association of Financial Advisers Student of the Year Award.

The award, sponsored by Asteron since its inception in 2008, recognises the outstanding performance and achievements of financial advice students.

“We are delighted to sponsor the award,” said Asteron General Manager, Jordan Hawke.  “[The award] demonstrates to the adviser community and to consumers how passionate our industry is about education levels amongst advisers,” he said.

Queensland-based Ms Hunt, who was  also a finalist in the 2009 AFA Student of the Year State Award, holds a degree in Psychological Science and Commerce (Financial Planning) from Griffith University and a First Class Honours Degree in Finance, where she earnt the University Medal (Dux).

Outgoing AFA National President, Dr Jim Taggart, said that the AFA was committed to education and ongoing learning and very pleased with this year’s winner.  “We continue to see outstanding talent amongst our student of the year candidates and Katherine is no exception,” Dr Taggart said.  “She is committed to her profession and to her clients and is making a major contribution to enhancing the reputation of the profession as a whole.”
