Group insurance providers Blue Group Underwriters & Managers (Blue-GUM) and Australian Income Protection (AIP) are set to merge their Australian operations.
Blue-GUM has managed the group risk insurance business for a number of Australian insurers, including Zurich and PrefSure. AIP, established in 2003, provides disability insurance solutions to industry funds.
Effective immediately, Blue-GUM’s Les Jones will assume the role of General Manager for the two companies. Ted Lovelee, CEO of AIP, will remain with the company until the completion of the merger and integration, which is expected to take some months.
