The awards recognise the growth rate of practices over the last year, acknowledging both large and small advice firms within the network.  There was also an award for the advice practice that has made the most significant change in revenue transition from upfront to hybrid and/or level commission business.

The winners are:

The awards were announced on the final night of the MLC Risk Specialist Network’s 2011 Risk Retreat in Kingscliff NSW, attended by around 190 advisers and Risk Specialist Network managers and support staff.

Presenters at the Retreat delivered a diverse range of relevant topics for advisers, including:

  • Current innovations and trends
  • The future consumer world in which the adviser will operate
  • How to stay ahead of competitors by utilising innovation
  • Personal and practice performance and productivity
  • How to make referral partnerships actually work
  • Cutting through technical jargon
  • Implementation of personal succession planning

A CEO panel session on the first day of the Retreat was also notable as a rare occasion on which the CEOs of the AFA, FPA and FSC jointly discussed the issues of the day, focusing on the likely FoFA reform outcomes for the life insurance industry and their implications.
