Life insurer TAL has will ramp up the professional development for its claims and rehabilitation teams after partnering with the Personal Injury Education Foundation (PIEF).
TAL is the first dedicated life insurer to use the services of PIEF, which is a registered training organisation and not for profit member based organisation, which includes accident compensation regulators, insurers (including TAL) and claims management organisations.
TAL, General Manager of Claims, Mary Maini said the new partnership would offer professional development and education from the Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management for entry level roles through to a Master of Personal Injury Management for senior claims professionals.
Maini said TAL would focus on was injury and disability management and return to work modules as these were providing large scale customer benefits.
“Our customers want to know that the claims professionals who are handling their claim understand their situation and will support them through the journey. Continuing to equip our people with the right skills to help our customers is essential to a good experience at often a very distressing and difficult time for our customers,” Maini said.
