Sydney adviser and 2015 AFA Adviser of the Year, David Reed, has been selected as the winner in a prestigious international awards competition for financial planners.

Reed, Principal of The Retirement Advice Centre, was announced last week as the overall winner of the PlanPlus 2016 Global Financial Planning Award for the Europe/Australia region. His recognition is one of three Awards for financial planning excellence bestowed across the three global regions of the Americas, Asia and Europe/Australia.
Advisers entering this competition are required to submit details of a comprehensive advice plan that has already been presented to a client. Only one entry per adviser is allowed, which must cover areas including:
- Client goals and objectives
- Challenges that may need to be overcome
- Defining and quantifying problems
- Recommendations
- Action plan(s)
- Results the client should experience
- Client benefits
Commenting on his win, Reed noted, “…The journey provided the opportunity to take a breath, stand back and re-examine the value that we deliver to our clients, using a real life situation. To have our advice recognised as a world-class retirement planning service shows that our long-held vision [is] being realised and I’m thankful to the PlanPlus Global Awards for offering us this opportunity”.
He added, “To have our value proposition and the advice we dispense benchmarked as being world-class is ultimately a great testament to the power of listening to clients and then sculpting a service offering based on what they tell us!”
The major prize attaching to this Award is an all-expenses paid trip to the global Financial Planning Association’s (FPA) annual conference in Baltimore, USA in September.
