AMP Limited has announced that financial services veteran Michael Wilkins will join the AMP Limited Board as a non-executive director, effective from 12 September 2016.
Until late last year Wilkins was Managing Director and Chief Executive of Insurance Australia Group, a role he held for more than seven years.
He has also worked at Promina Group Limited as its Managing Director and Chief Executive, and was the Managing Director of Tyndall Australia Limited, and a non-executive Director of Maple-Brown Abbott Limited and Alinta Limited during his 30 years of experience in the Australian financial services sector.
Wilkins will be joined on the Board by Peter Varghese AO, who also joins as a non-executive director, effective from 1 October 2016.
Varghese is currently the Chancellor of the University of Queensland and recently retired as the Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
His previous senior appointments include High Commissioner to India, High Commissioner to Malaysia, Director-General of the Office of National Assessments, and Senior Adviser (International) to the Prime Minister of Australia.
