Former LUA President Passes Away

A former President of the Life Underwriters Association (AFA)has passed away aged 85.

Charles ‘Chic’ Wilson was President of the LUA from 1982 to 1984 and played an active role of mentoring many of his colleagues and was a trail blazer into the field of Group Life and Group Salary Continuance, the AFA stated in a message to members.

The Association said Wilson was widely recognised as a visionary for advice including making the decision to radically change his business at age 55, which paid handsome dividends.

  1. My sincere condolences to “chic’s” family. Having first met him at a conference in New Orleans over 20 years ago he was a great man and a mentor to many in the industry.
Despite having some heath issues with his family that commanded a great deal of time and attention he always had time to assist and guide new advisers and had great advice for those who had been in the industry as long as himself ensuring many made a way of life with their businesses passing on the invaluable lesson of never taking your client for granted and being there for all their needs. It was more than an Income to Chic !
This loss for those who knew him best will linger for a long time in our minds.
