Miles said he would remain as chairman of the group and the appointment was in preparation for a significant expansion program which will see him focus on recruiting advisers and working with practices.

He added that while Fortnum had built its licensing and dealer services’ solution it believed there was considerable growth opportunities ahead Younger would be involved in the development and delivery of end-to-end solution for clients and business life stage solutions for advisers.

“Neil is a well-regarded, experienced wealth management executive with proven skills across a range of areas and we’re fortunate to be able to attract someone of his calibre to take Fortnum to the next stage,” Miles said.

Younger was with ANZ for nearly five years before leaving the bank in August 2016 and also headed advice group at the Commonwealth Bank and BT Financial Group.

He will work with alongside the heads of the group’s two underlying business – Fortnum Financial Advisers managing director Joel Taylor and Innova Asset Management managing director Dan Miles – as well as with Miles.

In related news, the IOOF-owned Bridges Financial Services has named Nathan Stanton as its new Chief Executive, permanently appointing him to the role in which he been acting since August 2016.
