The Financial Services Council has completed its executive search process and named Blake Briggs as its new CEO, after acting in the role since December.

Briggs has a long history within the FSC, having worked in the organisation for eight years in total as its Deputy CEO and as Senior Policy Manager for Superannuation. Briggs has an extensive history in financial services and governance, previously being Head of Government and Industry Affairs for Wealth at Westpac, and as Director of the Gateway Network Governance Body.

His appointment comes after previous CEO Sally Loane stepped down in October 2021, having led the organisation for seven years.

FSC Chairman, David Bryant, congratulated Briggs on his appointment: “The FSC Board welcomes Blake to his new position. Blake has proven he is a strong leader for the FSC who has a commitment to the organisation’s mission of delivering a financially secure future for all Australians.”
