The Government has released a Discussion Paper to support public consultation as part of the review of ASIC’s Industry Funding Model and is encouraging stakeholders to share their views.
A statement from Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services, Stephen Jones, says the Government is committed to maintaining appropriate industry funding arrangements for ASIC.
He says the review “…will ensure the settings of the IFM remain appropriate in the longer term.”

The discussion paper invites stakeholders to consider options, examples of potential changes and questions that are designed to examine and address a range of issues set out in the Terms of Reference.
Jones says stakeholder feedback received through the process and further consultation “…will inform the review’s consideration, including to consider whether any refinements are required to the IFM to ensure its settings remain appropriate.”
The review is being led by Treasury in consultation with ASIC, the Department of Finance and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet with submissions closing on 28 October 2022.
