The Million Dollar Round Table organisation in Australia is emerging on the other side of the pandemic with a number of key appointments and upcoming initiatives, including new education, coaching and mentoring service offers for advisers.

Key Appointments

Melbourne-based adviser and business owner, Nick Longo …will preside over a reinvigorated Australian MDRT organisation as it re-emerges on the other side of the pandemic

Melbourne adviser, Relevant Financial Partner, Nick Longo, took the reins as MDRT Australia Chair in September, while Christchurch adviser, Brian Burgess, assumed the global organisation’s Oceania Chair at the same time.

The structure of MDRT in Australia is also changing, which will see a more centralised streamlining of activities and initiatives, rather than the existing state-based structure. While the State Chairs remain, future services will be generated on a national basis, including events, presentations, social media activities and other communications.

MDRT Adviser Education

Following two-and-a-half years during which it has been almost impossible to arrange in-person events in Australia, MDRT will be delivering a series of events in March 2023 that will offer education and coaching services for both emerging and established advisers.

As one key element in its new national plan, the organisation will be delivering a series of presentations across four states designed to train and upskill advisers with the aim of helping them enhance their client value propositions and to build and maintain successful advice businesses.

Generation Life, which is headed by former Olympic swimming great, Grant Hackett, has been announced as MDRT Australia’s 2023 Education partner and will be joining the organisation to present this series of coaching and education events.

MDRT Mentoring Offer

A more formalised approach is being shaped for advisers at all stages of their career to benefit from a new MDRT mentoring service that will commence in 2023.

The Australian organisation is putting out a call for advisers to volunteer as mentors to emerging advisers from around the country, as well as to more established advisers seeking to take their service offer and their businesses to the next level.

Typifying the collegiate spirit which exists within the MDRT ‘narrative’, it’s not unusual to see MDRT adviser members act as mentors while also participating as mentees as they strive to be the best adviser, business person and person they can be.

MDRT Book Club

MDRT Australia’s selected Book Club book for Q1 2023: Die With Zero – reflecting on how to get the most from your career …and from your life

For advisers seeking to continually improve themselves and their businesses, MDRT is launching a member book club in 2023.

Meeting once a quarter, the purpose of the initiative is to develop a shared learning experience based around that quarter’s chosen book and the messages it delivers.

Second generation risk adviser siblings, Mia and Ben Johnson, have selected the Q1 2023 book, entitled Die With Zero (author: Bill Perkins). The book’s narrative is intended to offer “…a thought-provoking framework for maximising net fulfillment over net worth.”
