Zurich Financial Services Australia has welcomed the successful vote by AFA and FPA members to merge the two associations, seeing it as representing a significant milestone for the industry.
A statement from the insurer says the creation of the Financial Advice Association of Australia Limited “…represents a significant milestone for the industry and a further demonstration of the professionalisation of financial advice in Australia.”
Kieran Forde, Chief Distribution Officer, Life & Investments, Zurich Australia says that members of these associations “…should be congratulated for recognising the importance of strong and united representation given the significant regulatory and market forces impacting the profession.”
He adds that Zurich “… is confident that this merger will create immediate benefits, not just for members, but also for consumers and the broader economy as we seek to enhance access to quality and affordable advice.”
