Australia-wide PD Day Attracts ‘Record-breaking’ Numbers

The largest single-day event dedicated purely to financial advisor professional development set a new record last week attracting 1,650 attendees, according to the organiser, Ensombl.

The adviser community says advisers, paraplanners, and practice staff from around Australia attended the hybrid online and in-person event – the All-Licensee PD Day – that it facilitated  for its members.

The event was the third time Ensombl community members have come together for professional development purposes.

Since the inaugural event in mid-2022 the Ensombl All Licensee PD Day has established itself “…as the largest event of its type in the Australian market, with the record-breaking attendance bettering the 1,500 Ensombl members who logged into or attended each of the two prior events,” the company says.

Ensombl (formerly XY Adviser) says the growth trajectory of the event comes as no surprise to CEO Clayton Daniel, who believes the day solves a massive efficiency challenge for smaller practices.

“We’ve entered a new era of advice, with a trend towards smaller and boutique practices and a premium placed on professional development, sustainability, and efficiency,” he says.

Daniel adds that smaller practices “…are finding these goals increasingly out of reach, as it becomes harder to access CPD in a way that is both affordable and makes efficient use of their time.”

He notes the All Licensee Professional Development Day was created to meet this challenge, by providing a licensee-agnostic, one-day CPD event that allows advisors to access 10 hours of CPD-accredited content – 25% of their annual needs – in one sitting.

Of the 1,650 attendees, approximately 90% chose to access the event virtually.
