Change continues at Acenda in its transition from MLC Life Insurance as it brings in a new medical provider and opens a new pathway for prospective underwriters.
Move to EQ Pathology
This month Acenda has moved from Lifescreen to EQ Pathology for all its medical and blood test requests. In a message to advisers, the insurer says EQ Pathology offers a digital first experience, real-time updates, and automated communications.
The medical firm was originally launched by a team of advisers, headed by MD, Stephen Clarkson, and offers mobile nurses for home and workplace appointments.
Underwriting Academy
Acenda is also bolstering its pre-claim support via an updated Kick-Start service, and launching an underwriting academy to reduce the skills shortage.
In acknowledging the short supply of skilled underwriters across the Australian life insurance industry, the insurer has launched a 12-week program designed to fast-track new underwriters into the field. It says its first three recruits will be ready to take on new business by June.
“With the strong support of our parent company, Nippon Life Group, we’re taking our 139-year legacy into a new era of business growth and enhanced capabilities,” says Michael Downey, Acenda’s GM, Individual Distribution.
