AIA Australia has appointed Susan Turner as its new Chief Financial Officer and Anna Livingston to the position of Chief People & Culture Officer.
The insurer says that Turner, who was most recently Executive Director, Central Operations, at The University of Sydney, brings over 20 years in senior finance leadership roles within the banking, wealth, investment management and insurance industries.
She started her career at Zurich and has since worked in senior CFO and COO roles at Commonwealth Bank and Westpac.
Livingston has more than 20 years of experience championing people, inclusion and diversity, both in Australia and overseas. Most recently, she held the role of Chief Diversity and People Officer with Tennis Australia.
CEO of AIA Australia, Damien Mu, welcomed Turner and Livingston to the executive team, noting they both have impressive track records of success in their own fields “…with strong leadership capability and expertise.”
Brilliant….more INCLUSION focus. How about just employing the right person for the job instead of employing someone to tick a quota box?
We are seeing how this agenda narrative is playing out all around the world at the moment from Government officials (with no clue what they’re doing – aka Karine Jean Pierre, WH Press Secretary), to law enforcement and bodies and military forces not being able to attract minimum annual quotas.
Who’s saying NO to people these days based on sex, religion, race etc? Placing people in positions BECAUSE OF IT, is merely ticking quota boxes and FAR from being the best corporate decision.
Good luck to the new executive appointees though.
