The Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services, Dr Daniel Mulino, will headline the FAAA’s annual Congress in Perth.

He will appear on Wednesday 19 November in a keynote session, Minister & CEO: In Conversation, where he will outline the Government’s priorities for the advice sector before joining FAAA CEO Sarah Abood for a Q&A session.

Dr Daniel Mulino has accepted the role of Assistant Treasurer and Financial Services Minister.

It will be Mulino’s first address to the FAAA membership since taking on the financial services portfolio following the May Federal election.

The session is expected to cover pressing issues including the rising cost of advice, adviser attrition, and the sustainability of the CSLR.

In July, with CSLR claims relating to personal advice heading toward $67m for the 2025-26 year – well above the $20m limit on levies – Mulino asked Treasury to look at the options available to “deal with this matter”.

Abood said the Minister’s participation at the conference offered an important opportunity for practitioners to hear directly from Government at a time of significant industry change.

The 2025 FAAA Congress, themed Ahead of the Curve, will run from 18–20 November at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre, bringing together advisers, policymakers and industry leaders to debate the future of financial advice.
