The May 2010 edition of AIA Australia’s Underwriting Alert publication for advisers announces key appointments in its underwriting and adviser services units:
Ted Kapourelakos has been appointed Underwriting Manager for AIA Australia. He has worked with AIA for the last five years, working mostly in the insurer’s claims area.
Mr Kapourelakos replaces previous Underwriting Manager, Karen Janes, who has moved into a new role as Head of the AIA Adviser Contact team. Ms Jane describes the team as a ‘one stop shop’ for financial advisers, offering electronic service via phone and email.
AIA has also announced the appointent of a new inhouse Chief Medical Officer, Dr Pramod Nathaniel. Dr Nathaniel holds dual Honours degrees and has undertaken post-graduate studies in areas such as: Public Health, Tropical Medicine, Aviation Medicine, Aeromedical Evacuations, Occupational Health and Travel Medicine.
