Value of Advice Award Finalists Announced

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) has announced the finalists in its 2010 Value of Advice (VOA) Awards.

The finalists are in the running for three awards, which recognise FPA members who display outstanding professionalism and demonstrate the true value of their advice.  The 2010 VOA Award finalists are:

Wealth Accumulation and Protection

  • Benjamin Lancaster CFP, MG Financial Planning (VIC), MG Financial Planning

Pre-Retirement Planning 

  • Charles BadenachCFP, Shadforth Financial Group (TAS), Shadforth Financial Group 
  • Timothy Carrigg CFP, HFM & Partners (VIC), AXA Financial Planning 
  • Philip Mason-Cox CFP, Hayes Knight Financial Planning (QLD), Magnitude

Post-Retirement Planning and Management

  • Andrew HarrisCFP, Minerds Bell Consultancy Group (SA), AXA Financial Planning
  • Justin Pratt (Undertaking the CFP Certification Program), Mercer Wealth Solutions (NSW), MINL

The Awards are open to all Certified Financial Planner (CFP) practitioners, and those enrolled in the CFP Certification Program.  VOA Award judge, John Godfrey, said the finalists all exemplified the FPA’s best practice ideals and demonstrated that complete financial advice goes beyond monetary benefits.

“The finalists’ submissions reinforced the need to fully understand clients’ financial, family and health situations to help them reach their objectives, together with some innovative advice that exhibited a deep understanding of the technical and regulatory issues involved,” Mr Godfrey said.

The winners of the three categories will be announced at a special awards ceremony on Thursday 25 November at the 2010 FPA National Conference.
