Our thoughts and sympathies are extended to the victims of the devastating floods in Queensland and northern New South Wales and to their loved ones.
Tragically, the death toll continues to rise and the damage being done to so many people’s lives is enormous.
There has been untold destruction to homes, businesses, other property and infrastructure in a disaster that may yet to have even reached its peak.
When the waters have receded, tens of thousands of victims will need support across the board as they commence the task of re-building their lives and their livelihood. For some, this will take years.
The financial services industry will play its role in serving the needs of the many victims, as it did in the aftermath of the Victorian bushfire disaster in February 2009.
