A dedicated group of MLC dealer group advisers, staff and other industry colleagues have raised in excess of $70,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities in support of seriously ill children as part of the 2011 MLC Risk Ride.

Conducted each year to coincide with the MLC Risk Specialist Network Risk Retreat, this year saw a record number of 24 participants brave the hills and valleys of southern Queensland and northern New South Wales.  Participants endured five days of hard riding before arriving a Kingscliff in New South Wales, which was the venue for the 2011 MLC RSN Risk Retreat.

Carl Wilkin, MLC Advice Solutions Manager for South Australia and 2011 MLC Risk Ride organiser said this was the third year MLC has held the Risk Ride, and he was excited to be fundraising for Ronald McDonald House:

“Ronald McDonald House Charities helps Australia’s seriously ill children and their families through incredibly difficult times,” said Mr Wilkin, adding he and his colleagues were thrilled to be donating in excess of $70,000 to such a worthy cause.

In 2011, Ronald McDonald House Charities will celebrate its 30th anniversary of helping seriously ill Australian children and their families through their time of need and the money raised through the 2011 MLC Risk Ride will ensure the charity can continue into the future.

The Risk Ride team was supported by MLC, TOWER Australia, OnePath, Zurich, Pure Financial Management, Kaplan and Wealth by Design, where each organisation donated to the cause in the form of equipment, money or uniforms.
