Tony Smith has been appointed to the role of Head of National Accounts at CommInsure.

Mr Smith was promoted from within, previously holding the role of State Manager for Queensland.

CommInsure’s General Manager Retail Advice, Tim Browne, said the internal appointment demonstrated the high-calibre of people within CommInsure.

“Tony’s promotion to this role is a reflection of his experience and depth of industry knowledge which makes him well positioned to take our National Accounts team forward,” Mr Browne said.

“The National Accounts team remains integral to the CommInsure business.  Tony and his team will work very closely with the Head of Adviser Distribution and all CommInsure state based teams in executing a finely tuned strategy aimed at selected national dealer groups, and their respective authorised representatives, to secure CommInsure as the insurer of choice,” Mr Browne added.

Mr Smith takes over the role from previous incumbent Simon Harris, who left late last year to head up Guardian Financial Planning (see: New Head of Guardian Appointed).

CommInsure is yet to announce a replacement for the State Manager of NSW and Queensland, and the Head of Advice Distribution following the departure of Todd Kardash (see: New ClearView National Sales Manager).
