Guardian Financial Planning (Guardian) has announced the appointment of Ian Anderson to the newly created role of Business Acquisition Manager.

The role, which reports directly to Simon Harris, Guardian Executive Manager, will be responsible for developing business succession capabilities and solutions for Guardian’s adviser network.  According to Guardian, Mr Anderson will facilitate acquisition opportunities for the group at a corporate and practice level, and enable Guardian’s adviser network to access the firm’s Adviser Referral Partner Program.

Mr Harris believes that with his background in banking and finance, Mr Anderson will bring an in-depth understanding of the challenges business owners and their successors need to overcome to complete a successful business transition.

“His experience will add to Guardian’s overall adviser value proposition, and support the group’s ambitions to grow its adviser network by 10% per annum over the next three years,” he said.

Speaking about his appointment, Mr Anderson said: “This role is an exciting chance for me to contribute to the future of Guardian Financial Planning by adding significant value to its network of advisers.

“Guardian has also identified a number of strategic growth opportunities over the next few years in the risk advice market, and these will drive a differentiated value proposition and add tremendous value to the businesses of our advisers.”
