Business Coaching Program Offers CPD Points

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) has accredited Elixir Consulting’s ‘Prac-Nav’ business coaching program, entitling participants to claim up to 20 CPD points.

Managing Director of Elixir Consulting, Sue Viskovic said: “I understand that this is the first business coaching program the FPA have been able to accredit.  We are thrilled that our advisers can now obtain CPD points for the time they spend working ‘on’ their business.”

“The Elixir program manages to balance a non-prescriptive view of how businesses should be run, with a structured, results-based program that enabled the FPA to clearly see evidence of professional development and improved advice models,” Ms Viskovic said.

Elixir Consulting says it has experienced a significant increase in business over the past eighteen months, with requests from licensees and advisers keen to improve their businesses.

Ms Viskovic puts this increase down to a number of factors.  “There is no doubt that the FoFA changes have encouraged many advisers to invest in their business and seek external support to assist them with the restructuring they need to complete ahead of 2012,” she said.

“We are also seeing evidence of more advisers wanting to focus on their business management in order to improve their advice, and looking beyond their product providers and alliance partners to provide this.

“The fact that our advisers can now gain up to 20 CPD points per annum is an added bonus that reflects the value of placing energy and focus on their business and striving for improvement,” said Ms Viskovic.
