CommInsure has made two senior appointments to its retail advice distribution team.
Former AMP Financial Planning Regional Manager – NSW, Southern and ACT, Andrew Kennedy has been appointed to the role of Head of Advice Distribution.
In this role, which reports directly to Tim Browne, General Manager – Retail Advice, Mr Kennedy will be responsible for new sales, retention and profitability targets across both the independent financial adviser and bank-based planner channels.
Also announced is the appointment of Mark Sheldon to the newly created role of Head of Business Retention and Growth.
Mr Sheldon, who will also report to Mr Browne, will be charged with managing the distribution, product and pricing, communications and advocacy strategies.
Speaking about the appointments, Mr Browne said: “With the proposed changes to the retail life insurance industry, as a part of the Future of Financial Advice reforms, it is imperative that we focus closely on the strategies required and capitalise on the opportunities that present themselves.
“Andrew has demonstrated his ability to successfully lead sales teams and work with key stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.
“Mark has extensive knowledge of competitor activity, technology, consumer trends, distribution channels, and the relevant opportunities. He is an invaluable resource to the business,” Mr Browne said.
Mr Sheldon will continue as Acting Head of Advice Distribution until early August, when Mr Kennedy will commence in the role.
