ANZ Wealth Key Appointments

ANZ Wealth has made three key appointments to its Advice and Distribution and Marketing teams.

As previously reported, new General Manager Advice and Distribution, Paul Barrett, has restructured his executive team and is currently actively recruiting for a number of new roles.  This week, he has announced the appointment of Greg Hansen and Luke Symons.

Mr Hansen, who until recently was the Head of Strategy and Planning with Colonial First State, has been recruited to the role of Head of Distribution Business Transformation.  Mr Barrett told riskinfo earlier this year that the role was designed to bring a dedicated focus on the pending reforms into all areas of the business.

“Not everyone has the luxury of being able to think through all the issues all the time.  I wanted someone on the executive committee to help the leadership team debate and discuss the issues; someone whose job it is to focus solely on the reforms,” he said.

The other member to join Mr Barrett’s leadership team, Mr Symons, will take on the Head of ANZ Financial Planning position.  Mr Symons has been with ANZ since 1999 and has been on the ANZ Leadership Talent Radar Program for the past two years.

Mr Symons will be responsible for driving the growth of the planning channel, and enhancing relationships with key stakeholders including the ANZ Retail and Commercial divisions.  The role will be based in Melbourne.

The ANZ Wealth marketing team has also been boosted with the appointment of Bettina Pidcock as Head of Wealth Marketing.

The role, which reports directly to Steve Sheppard, General Manager Strategy and Marketing, will oversee the marketing of all ANZ Wealth brands, including OnePath, ANZ Private Bank, E*TRADE and Super Concepts).

Mr Sheppard said the appointment will help position ANZ to grow its wealth business by “clearly communicating how we are different”.

“Bettina’s experience and insights from working with merged businesses at Asgard and BTFG will also be an asset as we move to fully integrate marketing across all ANZ Wealth brands,” he added.
