Mr Carroll, who will transfer to Sydney from his current base in New Zealand, has been performing this role in an acting capacity for the past five months.

The Commonwealth Bank has also announced changes to its executive team.

Annabel Spring, who is currently the Group Head of Strategy, will take on the position of Group Executive Wealth Management.

The role became vacant following the appointment of Grahame Petersen, who currently leads the wealth management business, to the position of Group Executive Business and Private Banking.

Ms Spring will be replaced by Robert Jesudason, who joins the Commonwealth Bank from Credit Suisse.

FSC

In other appointment news, the FSC has elected Greg Cooper as its new Deputy Chairman, following the resignation of Board member Michael Bargholz.

Mr Cooper is CEO of Schroder Investment Management Australia and has been a Director of the Financial Services Council for three years.

FSC Chairman, Peter Maher, welcomed Mr Cooper, saying: “Greg is a very talented leader in the investment management community and we are pleased to have him increase his involvement with the Financial Services Council as Deputy Chairman.”
