AMP Employees to Jump Off Building

AMP employees will have the opportunity to abseil off the AMP building in Sydney’s Circular Quay as part of a charity event to be held this month.

The Abseil for Youth event, in support of the Sir David Martin Foundation, will see around 200 abseilers descend the heritage listed landmark. 43 AMP staff will participate in the event, with all including AMP Financial Services Managing Director, Craig Meller.

“I’m looking forward to sharing the experience with all the other participants, while also helping to raise funds and awareness for this worthy cause,” said Mr Meller.

The event will be held over two days on 21 and 22 October on the AMP Building’s eastern face.

Asteron Extends Commission Offer

Asteron has announced it will extend its bonus commission offer for applications submitted via Lifeguard eQ.

Advisers will receive an additional 5% on the first year’s commission for all applications lodged using Asteron’s e-application.

The offer has been extended until 18 November, and is also available for applications for Lifeguard through Colonial First State FirstChoice.

TAL Appointment

TAL Life has announced the promotion of Adam Fusca to Head of Group Life Product Development.

Mr Fusca has been leading TAL’s Corporate Group Life Division since June 2009 and has more than 15 years in the Financial Services industry, both in Australia and internationally, in varied customer relationship and product development roles.

CEO of TAL’s Group Life Business, Andrew Boldeman said:  “I am delighted to make this appointment.  It is recognition of the great work Adam has done over the past few years with us and further demonstration of the strength and depth within our team.  Given the breadth of products that we support this remains one of the most critical roles in our business.”

“Adam’s mandate is to further enhance our product range and ability to support our business partners, developing our people and capabilities,” Mr Boldeman said.

OnePath Renews Partnership with UHG

OnePath has reappointed United Healthcare Group (UHG) as a preferred supplier of medical requirements for its life insurance business.

According to UHG, the new four-year contract is a ‘vote of confidence’ in its approach to business.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to continue working with OnePath to grow their business and focus on improving the service to their advisers, industry funds and customers,” said Dr Brandon Carp, UHG Managing Director.

“Over the life of our partnership we have worked with OnePath to introduce game changing innovations in underwriting such as tele-interviewing.”

Dr Carp said the health care provider would continue to deliver new services to support insurers, including the introduction of medEbridge, an IT platform for the extraction of medical information securely from GPs’ practice management systems.

Centrepoint Ends Robbie Bennetts’ contract

Centrepoint Alliance Limited (CAF), who merged with Professional Investment Holdings (PIH) late last year, has elected to conclude its consultancy agreement with group founder, Robbie Bennetts.

Since ending his full-time employment with PIH, Mr Bennetts had been employed by the CAF as a consultant for two days a week to support PIH Group conferences and develop new business opportunities.
