Plan B Group Executive Appointment

Plan B Group Holdings has announced the appointment of Paul Cramer to the role of Group Executive – Product and Distribution.

Mr Cramer, a Certified Financial Planner, will lead the firm’s wealth management product and business development areas.

Speaking about the appointment, Plan B CEO, Andrew Black, said the appointment marked the first step in the group’s targeted expansion strategy. 

“I am pleased to be able to attract an executive of Paul’s calibre to the team, and look forward to Plan B capitalising on the growth and development opportunities ahead of us.  In talking to all of our advisers and staff in recent weeks I am even more confident that Plan B is uniquely placed to grow both as a business and a high quality advice provider to clients,” said Mr Black.

Head of Bank of Melbourne Private

Jonathan Ayres has been appointed as the first head of Bank of Melbourne Private.

Mr Ayres joins the new brand, part of BT Financial Group (BTFG), from the National Australia Bank, where he was most recently employed as a senior investment specialist with NABInvest.

Jane Watts, BTFG’s General Manager of Private Wealth said: “Jonathan has a proven track record in wealth management.  In particular, he has a strong private banking background, strategic financial advisory expertise and a deep understanding of wealth management and the needs of high net worth clients.”

FSC Board Appointments

The Financial Services Council welcomes two new board members: Gerard Doherty, Managing Director of Fidelity Australia, and Ben Heap, Managing Director of UBS Global Asset Management.

The new Directors replace Michael Bargholz, former CEO of AllianceBernstein Australia, and John Van Der Wielen, who was the Managing Director of Wealth at ANZ.

FSC Chairman, Peter Maher, welcomed the new Directors and thanked Mr Van Der Wielen and Mr Bargholz for their service.

“Gerard Doherty and Ben Heap bring with them a wealth of experience and knowledge of the financial services industry and will be valued contributors to the work of the Financial Services Council,” Mr Maher said.
