MLC Advice Leadership Changes

MLC has announced a major reshuffle of its Advice and Marketing senior management team, following the resignation of Apogee General Manager, Wayne Handley.

Mr Handley, who has worked with MLC for over 20 years, will retire at the beginning of 2012.  He will be succeeded by Fiona Navarro, who has been heading up MLC’s Risk Specialist Network since its inception five years ago.

Greg Miller, who was appointed as the General Manager of MLC Advice Solutions and Direct businesses earlier this year, will step away from his role in the Advice Solutions team to focus on the development of the direct portfolio.

Replacing Mr Miller as General Manager, Advice Solutions is Tom Reddacliff, former General Manager of Godfrey Pembroke.

Peter Smith will now take the reins at Godfrey Pembroke.  Mr Smith has most recently been focused on distribution for NAB’s investment business.

Richard Nunn, Executive General Manager, Advice and Marketing, MLC and NAB Wealth, said the appointments reflected the strength of leadership within the business and would provide advisers with a level of continuity in their service experience.

“These changes demonstrate the depth of leadership talent we have been cultivating across our business, but more importantly they will continue to strengthen our support to advice businesses and ensure our advisers maintain their industry leadership position in a rapidly changing market,” Mr Nunn said.

The changes will become effective from 1 February 2012.
