CommInsure has recruited senior Munich Re executive Frank Crapis as its new Head of Life Product and Strategy, replacing Sally Phillips who has left the insurer.
The move marks a return to CommInsure for Crapis who worked with the insurer for 11 years from 2001 to 2014 at which time he left for Munich Re, where he most recently held the role of Head of Client Solutions -Retail, Group and Direct Insurance.
In his past roles at CommInsure, Crapis worked with retail, group and wholesale insurance with his last role covering group life insurance for industry funds and was, until recently, a Director of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, where he chaired the faculty advisory board for life, health and retirement income.
CommInsure said Phillips had left to focus on the development of medical innovations with General Manager Life Product and Distribution, Craig Harrison stating the return of Crapis would see him involved in a series of upgrades to the insurer’s retail product offering as well as supporting direct and group insurance customers and clients.
