The remaining 2020 sittings for the FASEA Adviser Exam will be held over five days in each of August, October and November, FASEA has confirmed.
A statement from the authority says the exam is scheduled to be offered across 327 separate sessions in those months.
It also states that to date approximately 10,250 advisers have sat the exam and that in total approximately 55 percent (i.e. 12,450) of advisers registered on ASIC’s FAR have either sat the exam or have registered to sit it at future 2020 sittings.
On the upcoming exams, FASEA says advisers will have a choice of a remote online or face-to-face exam options, subject to meeting Covid-19 requirements.
Each exam will be offered over multiple days with sittings proposed in both metropolitan and regional venues.
It notes that in person sittings will only occur if Covid-19 requirements allow. Advisers who do not wish to attend a physical venue can sit the exam remotely on-line at any time across those sitting days.
The exam availability in the remaining months of 2020 is:
August 2020
- Five sitting days from 13 to 18 August 2020
- Eight metro and 14 regional physical locations
- 156 sessions across the five days
- The August exam is open for registration until 24 July with more than 2,200 advisers registered to date.
October 2020
- Five sitting days from 8 to 13 October 2020
- Seven metro and eight regional locations
- 87 sessions across the five days.
November 2020
- Five sitting days from 5 to 10 November 2020
- Seven metro and seven regional locations
- 84 sessions across the five days.
If demand is high, FASEA says it has the ability to extend the number of days of each sitting to accommodate advisers wishing to sit.
Exam progress
The Authority says six separate exams across 32 sitting days have been run in multiple locations or online since June 2019.
It notes that prior to Covid-19 restrictions, the exam was offered at 341 separate physical sessions in 30 locations. Post the implementation of Covid-19 restrictions, advisers have been offered multiple online sessions for April 2020 and June 2020 exams.
FASEA will offer further exams with multiple sitting days in 2021.
