Zurich Life & Investments Chief Distribution Officer, Kristine Brooks, has resigned to take up a new opportunity outside of life insurance*, although she remains with Zurich until 27 November 2020.

A statement from Zurich says it has begun an internal and external recruitment process for the position and thanks Brooks for her valued tenure over more than 15 years at Zurich.

It says that during this time she has built up “…one of the most highly regarded teams in the country and is known for her staunch advocacy of diversity and community initiatives”.

The insurer has also announced that Daniel Longden is rejoining Zurich as Chief Financial Officer in November 2020.

It says Longden is known to many in life insurance, after senior actuarial, finance, propositions and consulting roles at Asteron Life, Macquarie Group, Zurich and, most recently, KPMG.

The company adds that Zurich and OnePath have significant opportunities in both retail and group life insurance, which require dedicated focus and that it has therefore created two newly designed roles.

It says that a new Head of Customer and Digital will unify the Zurich and OnePath retail propositions functions and improve its ability to execute on its dual brand strategy, which it remains committed to. Kieran Forde will take on this role on an interim basis.

Gerard Kerr has agreed to take on an interim role of Head of Group Insurance until early next year.

Zurich notes that other key distribution and operational team contacts remain the same.

* Brooks will take on the role of Head of Australian Business, for trans-Tasman specialist investment firm, Milford Asset Management, effective from 7 December 2020.
