FPA CEO to Step Down

1

The FPA has announced its CEO of the last five-and-a-half years, Dante De Gori, has resigned.

In a letter released to FPA members today, De Gori has informed them he will continue in his role until the end of 2021 in order to allow a smooth transition in the search for his replacement.

FPA CEO, Dante De Gori …departing at the end of 2021

De Gori became the FPA’s CEO in March 2016, replacing previous CEO, Mark Rantall, but has been with the association since February 2010, where he held senior policy roles prior to his appointment as CEO in 2016.

In his message to members, De Gori listed a number of highlights during his tenure, including:

  • Leading the FPA through the most difficult period ever seen in financial planning, including fronting as a witness at the Royal Commission
  • Pivoting the FPA through the introduction of the five-year strategic priorities of Members, Advocacy and Consumers
  • Developing the FPA’s 10-point plan future of financial advice white paper in 2014 – with 9 of the 10 points subsequently being delivered, including the protection of the terms financial planner/adviser into law

Ironically, De Gori’s resignation comes on the same day as the announcement of the AFA’s new CEO (see: AFA Announces New CEO).

The FPA Board, under its current Chair, Marisa Broome, is set to undertake an extensive search for the association’s next CEO.
