Adviser Numbers Steady?

There are just 97 fewer advisers than there were at the start of 2023, compared with a loss of nearly 1,300 at the same time in the 2022 calendar year.

Wealth Data’s Financial Adviser Movements Fast Facts table for the calendar year to date, shows current advisers now sit at 15,701 compared with 15,798 at the start of the  year.

In comparison in the prior period adviser numbers had fallen by 1,288 dropping from 17,171 at the start of 2022 to reach 15,883 in October 2022, a fall of 7.5%.

The drop in the current calendar year equals just an 0.61% fall, Wealth Data’s table shows.

The same Wealth Data chart also shows that in the calendar year to date the industry has seen 89 new licensees emerge although 47 licensees ceased.

In the same period last year there were 116 new licensees and 337 had ceased.
