MLC Life Insurance has appointed experienced technology executive Mirella Robinson to the newly created Chief Technology Officer role as part of its Executive Team.
Robinson is a senior technology executive with over 20 years’ experience spanning various industries including financial services, telecommunications, media and retail energy.
She joins MLC Life Insurance from Cbus where she served as Chief Information and Technology Officer, evolving their technology and data strategy to leverage machine learning and AI practices, as well as delivering two fund mergers and complex system integrations.
Kent Griffin, CEO of MLC Life Insurance, says that given the importance of technology “…in delivering our strategy that puts the customer at the centre of what we do, I’m excited to draw from [Robinson’s] impressive experience as we create this crucial role.”
The company says the CTO role will contribute to the significant body of work being undertaken by the business to further improve the systems, processes and technology needed to offer an even better experience for advisers and customers, as well as superannuation funds, trustees and their members.
Griffin adds that Robinson has a proven track record of delivering customer experience by building strong teams, driving innovation, agility, and performance in diverse and complex environments.
So, a new broom is sweeping through. Visions of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice
Perhaps this time the MLC adviser website can be designed after proper consultation with advisers, not just accepting what the IT “nerds” think is a good idea. Millions have apparently been wasted in the last three years
For starters, to obtain an insurance quote, all of the questions should be on the one page. Comminsure did it years ago – and it’s not hard, if you actually listen.
Advisers should be able to model an IP quote, for instance, just by changing the waiting periods or benefit periods, quickly, and with the result obvious on the screen
And do it in-house please. Off-site boutiques have no idea!!!!
