News that six firms have been named finalists in the inaugural PPS Mutual Risk Practice of the Year Award attracted plenty of reader interest this week…
Six firms have been announced as the finalists in the inaugural PPS Mutual Risk Practice of the Year Award.
The finalists in the running for this new industry recognition, most of which operate under a national footprint, are:
- Hewison Private Wealth – Victoria
- Hood Sweeney – South Australia
- Keyman Financial Services – NSW
- MBS Insurance – NSW
- Personal Risk Professionals – Queensland
- Skye Wealth – Victoria
These finalists were selected from a deep list of 32 qualifying advice practice applicants; the volume of nominations suggesting very strong initial engagement with this new award – at a time when it is more important than ever to recognise excellence in life insurance advice and the businesses which deliver that advice to consumers.
Numerous businesses were unlucky not to make the final six, in what was a high-quality field of outstanding candidates.
All firms have been assessed against a set of objective criteria across key categories including:
- Customer excellence
- Commercial strategy
- Continuous improvement
- Cultural strength
- Industry contribution
There will be more detailed assessment applying to the six finalist firms, part of which will include the opportunity for the firms’ clients to provide feedback on their experience in dealing with them.
Reiterating comments he shared when initially announcing this industry initiative, PPS Mutual CEO, Michael Pillemer, said risk advice is one of the most under-appreciated parts of our industry:
“Through this award, we want to recognise those advice practices that are excelling under pressure, setting new standards, and helping to build a stronger, more sustainable future for life insurance in Australia,” he said.
This final stage of judging is being carried out in the coming weeks, with the winner of the inaugural PPS Mutual Risk Practice of the Year Award to be announced early in the New Year ahead of the Riskinfocus 26 CPD Tour, at which representatives of the winning practice will share their experience and formula for success.
The independent judging panel for the award features leaders in the life insurance and advice sector, including:
- Angus Woods, Managing Director of Adviser Ratings
- Sue Laing, Technical Director at The Risk Store Consulting
- Marc Fabris, Digital Consultant and Founder of Risk Hub
- Peter Sobels, Publisher of Riskinfo
- Sue Viskovic, Head of Consulting at Vital Business Partners
