Key TPD Claim Support Appointment

TPD Claim Support has announced the appointment of John Barton as a Director and Chair of the Board.

John Barton …more than 30 years’ experience as a company director, adviser and business owner.

Founded by directors Trevor Battersby and Susan Hedt four years ago, TPD Claim Support says it has experienced significant growth as it works to build recognition and support for this often overlooked part of the financial advice profession within Claims Handling & Settling Services.

It says Barton’s appointment reflects the company’s commitment to deepening its impact across the sector and accelerating the next stage of its growth.

With more than 30 years’ experience as a company director, adviser and business owner, TPD Claim Support says Barton is best known for his 10 years at MGD Wealth, as Director and CEO and as founding partner of Qurate Advisory, a specialist corporate advisory firm that helps business owners plan and execute strategic business transactions.

It says Barton’s extensive experience and standing in the industry brings a new level of guidance and credibility to TPD Claim Support as it looks to take the business to its next stage of growth.

Barton’s role will focus on three key areas:

  • Strategic direction – setting the company’s strategic objectives, keeping them in view, and holding the business accountable to them
  • Market positioning – supporting the company’s value proposition in the market through engagement with advice firms, licensees, and referral partners, building understanding of this emerging service category alongside its risk mitigation and commercial benefits
  • Enterprise value growth – guiding the decisions and disciplines that increase the value of the business and its readiness for future transactions

Battersby says TPD Claim Support is excited about the appointment. “With John’s experience, wisdom and guidance, we are well placed to support the profession while continuing to pursue our growth ambitions.”

Barton notes that TPD claims are high value, technical, and easy to get wrong, which can lead to litigation risk for advisers and licensees. “Bringing in a genuine specialist gives clients the best chance of a good and timely outcome and takes a lot of that risk off the adviser’s desk. That’s what Trevor and Sue have built, and I’m delighted to be helping them grow it.”
