The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has announced the results of the election for Board members with Marc Bineham named as the new National President and Michael Nowak elected as Vice President.
Six positions were being contested at the election, three on the Executive Committee and three State Director positions, where two AFA members stood for each position.
Joining Bineham and Nowak on the Board is former National President Deborah Kent, who was elected to the position of Treasurer, while Samantha Robinson was elected as State Director for Victoria, Tim Ross as State Director for Queensland and Jeff Thurecht was returned as State Director for NSW/ACT.

The new Board will take office at the conclusion of the Association’s Annual General Meeting which is scheduled to take place at the AFA National Adviser Conference in Canberra, on 6 October.

My sincere congratulations to Sam Robinson. If I was going to be beaten by someone I am glad it was someone with such strong beliefs in our profession and who I know will do a great job. Well done Sam, you deserve the role and you will do a fabulous job.
Congratulations to everyone else as well, you have a tough job to do, best of luck.
