Launch of New Insurance Industry Consumer Campaign

0

The first stages of a new education campaign have been launched by ANZIIF to better inform the public about the value of insurance and risk management.

Called Know Risk, the online campaign is intended to support the work carried out by advisers in both the general and life insurance sectors by delivering useful information about insurance to the public, in order for them to gain a better understanding of the practical and financial aspects of risk management.

The service will also be designed to connect people to an online community where experience and knowledge can be transferred and online tools can be utilised to help consumers make the right decisions about insurance and risk management.

Advisers can click through to a brief introductory message to the industry about the launch of Know Risk and its aims: www.knowrisk.com.au.

One of the key messages in the introduction to Know Risk is to advisers:

Know Risk is … about appreciating the role that insurance professionals play in the community

Know Risk is the online network for people to better understand insurance and risk.  It’s about appreciating the role that insurance professionals play in the community.  It’s about helping people understand insurance through engaging stories, digital tools and community interaction

The campaign aims to:

  • Demystify insurance
  • Empower consumers
  • Build community resilience through knowledge

In launching Know Risk and focusing on these goals, ANZIIF CEO, Joan Fitzpatrick, said the Know Risk initiative is “… the most powerful and effective approach we can offer our industry” in addressing:

  • The non and underinsurance issue
  • The poor image of the insurance industry
  • The state of financial literacy in the community

All interested industry contributors can register on the Know Risk website to stay informed about further announcements as the full package is progressively rolled out to the public.
